What’s the Next Question? Furthering the Inquiry…

As a teacher I strive to create a compassionate and positive classroom environment that fosters self-knowledge, self-empowerment, creativity, and joy. It is my aim to bring out the personal voice, core values, and self-confidence within my art students. I have seen how art has the potential to heal and I have experienced the healing force of boosting student’s self-confidence in high school art students during my Practicum. I aspire to help my students to overcome creative blocks and limiting beliefs, and foster self-knowledge and self-love within them so that they can express themselves more freely in their art and be more well-adjusted and happy individuals in life. As I continue my journey as a teacher it will be interesting to answer the question, “what are the best practices, techniques, and strategies for teaching student’s self-knowledge and self-empowerment moving forward?”
